SHARE Oxford’s regular repair cafés
Every first Sunday of every odd month between 14:00 – 16:30, SHARE Oxford organises Repair Cafes at alternating locations: Common Ground Cafe and Makespace Oxford.
Have anything broken that you can carry to our event? Read on to see if we will have on the right volunteers with the right skills for our upcoming event!
Book your free ticket here.
Community repair attempts and advice over a nice cup of tea or coffee!
Electrical, IT, sewing, and tool sharpening repairs for things like: laptops, iPods, lamps, drills, stereos, toys, blenders, gardening tools, scissors, clothes, etc. We have one volunteer from The Broken Spoke for mechanical repairs for bikes as well, but we expect a lot of demand on this, so please be patient and ready to be directed towards their bike repair coop if there isn’t enough time!
In the spirit of the global repair cafe and restart project movement of keeping the repair culture alive and of empowering us as owners and carers of our things, you will be invited and ecouraged to observe our volunteers repairing your stuff when your turn is next.
Help us to help you! Please bring all parts needed for testing such as: power cords, mains adaptors, CDs, remote controls, etc.
Please bear in mind that we can’t promise to repair. We will do our best to bring a second life to your items, and at least advise on alternative local repair options. You may wish to bring petty cash in case our volunteers suggest you purchase any specialised spare parts on the day and return to complete the repair.
Want to volunteer to attempt repairs yourself at our next event? Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details before the date!
Paid-for parking for maximum 3 hours available on Wellington Square (behind the cafe) and maximum 2 hours on St Giles. Check parkopedia.co.uk for extra locations!
