Volunteer With Us

SHARE Oxford is a relatively new community group dependent on a growing number of enthusiastic volunteers. If you are passionate about the idea and have a little time to spare, we’d love to have you on board!

Keep the library running every week, looking after customers, caring for and maintaining things, organising our operations and enjoying plenty of laughs and biscuits!
Take the things to the people, have some great conversations about the difference we’re making, and get some exercise too!
Help us build our online community and find customers with great marketing, keep our processes and finances tight, or plan our next venture!
Even if you can just help occasionally, want to join us for a particular event or project, or have an idea to pitch, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
Give objects a new life and share your knowledge every other month, whatever your special skill!
Help set up/clear away the space, offer refreshments, welcome people and make sure it’s a great day for everyone involved.
Help us plan our cafes, a flexible and cooperative role!

To get involved, please get in touch at getinvolved@shareoxford.org, repaircafe@shareoxford.org, or on 07410 942204.

Why volunteer?

Be a part of the SHARE team, a dynamic and sociable community of volunteers and members, and gain valuable experience and skills that could improve your employability and confidence. At the same time, support SHARE Oxford’s mission: we aim to make sharing easier and to increase access to good quality things so that we may reduce consumption and waste, save money, save the environment, and feel good about it!

Who can volunteer?

Anyone! As you can see above, there is a range of roles to suit people’s interests and the time they have available. If you already have skills you can offer, great, but training and support is offered for most roles – all we ask is enthusiasm.

What kind of commitment do I have to make?

Some roles, like Librarian of Things, require a regular commitment (although there is flexibility). Many others can be done as and when you have time to offer, and if you only have a couple of hours to space, our one-off volunteer projects would work for you.
