Repair Café

041Got things which need some TLC, are perhaps a bit broken and you haven’t had the time or skills to fix them yourself? Don’t throw them away, bring them to our repair café, and our volunteers will have go at fixing them.

SHARE Oxford organises free Repair Cafés at every first Sunday of every other month between 14:00 – 17:00 at Makespace Oxford. Donations welcome!

We have a mix of experts and complete beginners all willing to get stuck in so that they may keep their repair skills and knowledge alive, share it with us, save money and reduce our resource consumption footprint. Even if your item can’t be fixed or you come along without anything to fix, you will still have a great time, meet new people and learn new skills. We also have coffee, tea and cake.

Next event

Our next event will be on Sunday 1 September 2019 14:00 – 17:00 at Makespace Oxford, OX2 6TP.

We will operate once again our hybrid pre-bookings & drop-in system for one item – repair types TBC.

  • With pre-bookings, you can be sure that your item will be looked at and hopefully repaired. The google booking form will be open soon. There is only a small number of pre-booked spaces available, depending on the repairers who confirm their attendance, thus keep posted! We will let you know by email if your booking is confirmed.
  • The drop-in first come first served list doesn’t guarantee that your item will be seen, but if you arrive early, there will be a good chance it it happening if people drop out, or if our repairers are super quick with the pre-bookings. More waiting is involved, thus bring a book, a laptop, knitting or something to keep you busy. There will be sofas and seats, and free coffee and cake for everyone.

Volunteer with us

Even if you’re a professional or a repair enthusiast, we’re always happy to hear from new volunteers! We would check and trust that your interest in performing repairs relies on some degree of experience and knowledge. Before you volunteer with us, we will ask to what level you would rate your skills, and we would allow you to take the lead on a repair of a certain type only if you rate your skills as intermediate or above. To express your interest or to find out more, send us an email at
